Arnold P. Advincula
Dr. Advincula is the Levine Family Professor, Vice-Chair of Women’s Health & Chief of Gynecology at the Sloane Hospital for Women, Columbia University Medical Center/New York Presbyterian Hospital in addition to serving a Division Chief of Gynecologic Specialty Surgery.
Dr. Masaaki Andou began his career as a pelvic surgeon in 1986 and has performed over 8,000 Vaginal Hysterectomy cases before starting laparoscopy. He started performing laparoscopic surgery in 1997. Since then He has performed 8,000 TLH cases and over 13,00 retroperitoneal (paraaortic or pelvic) lymphadenectomies for cervical, endometrial, and ovarian cancer, including the development of a total radical trachelectomy and nerve sparing radical hysterectomy surgery. In total, he has performed over 16,000 laparoscopic procedures. He currently holds the position of director at Kurashiki Medical Center, Clinical Professor of Kyoto University, Osaka University, Mie University, Keio University and Thai-German Multidisciplinary Endoscopic Training Center, Additionally, he is a Visiting Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Beijing Capital University, Xi`an Jiaotong university and Fudan University.
Dr. Andou has published extensively and is the recipient of 17 awards at annual meeting of AAGL, ISGE, ESGE and SLS.
His current interests lie in the field of radical surgery for endometriosis including reconstruction as well as function preserving oncologic surgery. Recently he has shifted his focus to develop some ultra-minimally invasive techniques such as single port surgery, Mini-laparoscopy and NOTES .as well as Robotic oncologic surgery.n.

In his current role, he oversees education and compliance for the oldest and largest non-profit in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery. Dr Jan Baekelandt qualified as a Medical Doctor (1999) and specialist in Gynaecology and Obstetrics (2004) at the Catholic University of Leuven, Belgium. He subspecialized as gynaecological oncologist (2004-2006) in Pretoria (South Africa) and Köln (Germany). He currently consults at Imelda Hospital (Bonheiden, Belgium), specializing in gynaecological oncology, and endoscopic and robotic surgery. His research focusses on vNOTES (he has performed more than 800 cases to date) and on frugal innovations in endoscopic surgery.

Adrien Bartoli has held the position of Professor of Computer Science at Université Clermont Auvergne since fall 2009 and is a member of Institut Universitaire de France since fall 2016. He leads the Endoscopy and Computer Vision (ENCOV) research group at Institut Pascal, CNRS, UCA and CHU de Clermont-Ferrand. Jean Paul Beregi
Prof Beregi graduated from Lille University School of Medicine in Cardiology and Radiology. He carried out his residency in Paris (starting in 1982) and then in Lille since 1988. He became Professor of Radiology in 2000, chairing the cardiovascular department. He is member of various national and international societies, including the CIRSE who he is fellowship. Professor Beregi’s major interests include renal imaging and intervention, aortic dissection, thoracic stentgraft and all new vascular interventional technologies. Since 1st September of 2010, he became Chairman of the Department of Radiology, CHU de Nîmes, Faculté de Médecine de Montpellier-Nîmes. He managed Occitanie area for National Professional Radiology Council and is member of several commissions in HAS (CNEDIMTS and COPIL for «accreditation»). Nicolas Bourdel is a Senior Consultant in Gynecology and Obstetrics at Clermont-Ferrand, France since 2007 (department of surgical gynecology with Pr canis). He received his PhD in computer vision aided surgery from the University of Clermont-Ferrand, France. His daily and surgical practice is dedicated to advanced laparoscopic procedure in oncology and deep endometriosis. Dr. Bourdel has published numerous papers concerning laparoscopy and the perioperative (and surgical) environment. His main interest his currently computer aided surgery (augmented reality during laparoscopy, with a research team pioneer in this domain). He is also interested in pedagogy for surgical teaching (10 steps project). Le Professeur Pierre CLAVELOU, neurologue, est membre de l’unité INSERM (U1110 NeuroDol), consacrée aux phénomènes douloureux dans une approche translationnelle, fondamentale et clinique, dans l’équipe physiopathogénie des douleurs de l’extrémité céphalique. Patrice CROCHET completed his surgical training at the Aix Marseille University, France. He was appointed a consultant gynecologic surgeon at La Conception Hospital-Marseille in 2011 and moved to Montpellier University in 2016. Dr Crochet’s clinical interest is the area of minimally invasive gynecology, with a focus on oncology and endometriosis.
His research interest started in 2008 during a fellowship on surgical education at Imperial College London. His PhD research focused on the use of virtual reality simulators for laparoscopic hysterectomy training.

Jenny Dankelman is professor in Minimally Invasive Surgery and Interventional Techniques at the Delft University of Technology (www.MISIT.nl). In 2001 she was awarded the Antoni van Leeuwenhoek chair and in 2013 she became Medical Delta professor.
Her research focuses on minimally invasive surgery, needle interventions and endovascular interventions. Her research group cooperates with several hospitals such as Leiden UMC where she holds a part time professorship position, Erasmus MC Rotterdam and the AMC Amsterdam. Her interests and research projects are in the fields of designing novel medical instruments, haptics, training and simulation systems, and patient safety, with the focus on minimally invasive techniques. Recently she started a number of projects to develop affordable multi-functional surgical instruments and an innovative surgical equipment system that allows minimally invasive surgery without the need for a sterile operating room, which is especially relevant to low-resource settings.

Marie Fidela R. Paraiso, MD, is a Staff Physician in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Cleveland Clinic, where she also serves as Head of the Center for Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery. Additionally, Dr. Paraiso holds a joint appointment in the Cleveland Clinic Urological Institute. She specializes in the treatment of urinary and fecal incontinence and pelvic organ prolapse. She is also Director of the Pelvic Floor Disorders Center at Lakewood Hospital.
Dr. Paraiso is board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology, with her expertise including laparoscopic and robotic-assisted laparoscopic surgery, incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, vaginal surgery and neuromodulation. Dr. Fingerhut, born in 1939 in New Brunswick New Jersey, USA, received his BA in organic chemistry from the University of Pennsylvania in 1961 and his medical degree from the University of Paris in 1971. He worked in several Parisian hospitals (under the tutelage of renown surgeons such as A Toupet and M Mercadier) before becoming assistant, then chief of service in the Centre Hospitalier Intercommunal of Poissy, France in 1987, position he held until 2006. He was named Associate Professor of Surgery. Department of Surgery Louisiana State University Medical Center. Rhona Flin (PhD, FBPsS, FRSE) is Professor of Industrial Psychology, Aberdeen Business School, Robert Gordon University and Emeritus Professor of Applied Psychology, University of Aberdeen. Her work examines human performance in high risk work settings, such as healthcare, aviation and the energy industries, with studies focusing on leadership, safety culture, team skills and cognitive skills. In recognition of her research, she has been awarded Fellowships by the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow and the Royal Aeronautical Society. Current projects include product safety culture, managers’ safety leadership and non-technical skills in safety-critical tasks.
Her books include Safety at the Sharp End: A Guide to Non-Technical Skills (2008, with O’Connor & Crichton) and Enhancing Surgical Performance: A Primer on Non-Technical Skills (2015, with Yule and Youngson).
MD is Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. He is the Program Director for the Residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology as well as the Associate Division Director for the Division of Reproductive Medicine and Infertility in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Dr. Loffer was in the private practice of gynecology in Phoenix, Arizona from 1968 to 2008. He was an Associate Clinical Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Arizona. Dr. Loffer has been active in gynecologic endoscopy and minimally invasive outpatient surgery since 1970. He is Past President of the AAGL and currently is their Medical Director. Dr. Loffer has authored over 46 peer review papers and 17 chapters, primarily in the area of gynecologic endoscopy. He is on the editorial board of 2 journals and is an ad hoc reviewer for 10 medical journals. He has frequently lectured in the United States and throughout the world and has demonstrated endoscopic surgical procedures in 14 foreign countries. He holds an A.B. and M.D. degree from Stanford University in California. His residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology and a fellowship in gynecological oncology were at the University of Minnesota Hospital, Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Professor Lee is currently a Vice-Superintendent in Chang Gung Memorial Hospital, Keelung branch. He serves as Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of The Asia-Pacific Association for Gynecologic Endoscopy and Minimally Invasive Therapy(APAGE).
Professor Lee graduated from the Taipei Medical University and received his Ph.D. in Kyorin University, Japan. Lena Maier-Hein received the doctoral degree (Dr.-Ing.) from Karlsruhe Institute of Technology KIT with distinction in 2009 and conducted her postdoctoral research in the Division of Medical and Biological Informatics at the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ) in Heidelberg, Germany, and at the Hamlyn Centre for Robotics Surgery at Imperial College London. As a full professor and department head at the DKFZ she is currently leading the Division of Computer-assisted Medical Interventions. Her primary research interests are in multi-modal data fusion in the presence of uncertainties, surgical data science and computational biophotonics with a strong focus on clinical translation.
She has received numerous awards, including the Ingrid-zu-Solms Prize 2009/2010, the Heinz Maier-Leibnitz Prize 2013 and the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy Prize 2017. She is/ has further been (co-) principal investigator on a number of national and international grants including a European Research Council (ERC) starting grant 2014.

Dr Shayanti Mukherjee is a Science and Industry Endowment Fund (SIEF) John Stocker postdoctoral Fellow in the Women’s health theme at the Ritchie Centre, Hudson Institute of Medical Research, Melbourne, Australia. Since 2015, she has extended her knowledge of biomaterials and tissue engineering into the fields of adult stem cell therapy and pelvic floor disorders. Her team has extensively studied Mesenchymal Stem cells from the endometrium and her current research investigates the evaluation of cell-based biomaterial systems for pelvic floor reconstruction surgeries.
Her research encompasses tissue engineering using novel nanobiomaterials, self-assembling peptide hydrogels and melt electrospun 3D bioprinted scaffolds.

Brad Nelson is the Professor of Robotics and Intelligent Systems at ETH Zürich. His primary research focus is on micro and nanorobotics with emphasis on applications in biology and medicine. He obtained a Ph.D. in Robotics from Carnegie Mellon University in 1995. He became an Assistant Professor at the University of Illinois at Chicago in 1995, then an Associate Professor at the University of Minnesota in 1998 before moving to Zürich in 2002.

Chrysoula Zacharopoulou is a gynecologist-surgeon at the Bégin Military Hospital in Paris. She is specialized in Endometriosis. She completed a fellowship in minimally invasive surgery and robotics at the IRCAD and an executive master in «Management and Health Policies» at Sciences Po Paris.
